The Calgary Stampeders and defensive lineman Kelon Thomas agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Monday.

Kelon Thomas is six foot four and weighs 255 pounds. The 24-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario, made one tackle, and eight tackles on special teams in eight games for the Stampeders in 2024.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Thomas on January 9, 2023. In 2023, he made one tackle and 12 tackles on special teams in 15 games.

Thomas played three seasons with the Okanagan Sun (2019, 2021-22) making 43 tackles, 18 sacks, one blocked kick, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 21 games. In 2022, he made 19.5 tackles, 11.5 sacks, one blocked kick, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in ten games.

In addition, Thomas had seven tackles and two sacks helping the Sun win the 2022 CJFL Canadian Bowl over the Regina Thunder 21-19. It was the first time in 22 years that Okanagan won a championship.
