The B.C. Lions signed running back and kick returner Jason Huntley on Thursday.
Jason Huntley is five foot nine and weighs 195 pounds. The 26-year-old from Toledo, Ohio, was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round (172nd pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. There were no preseason games played in 2020 and he was released on September 5, 2020.
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Huntley via waivers on September 6, 2020. He played two seasons in Philadelphia with 18 carries for 70 yards, one catch for no yards, five kick returns for 120 yards, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in six games. The Eagles released him on August 30, 2022. He also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts.
Collegiately, Huntley played four seasons at New Mexico State (2016-19) with 373 carries for 2,182 yards, 18 touchdowns, 134 catches for 1,119 yards, seven touchdowns, 59 kick returns for 1,521 yards, five touchdowns, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 47 games for the Aggies.
He was named Fourth Team All-American by Phil Steele in 2018, and First Team All-Independent in 2019 by Phil Steele.
