The B.C. Lions are set to sign linebacker Adam Auclair to a one-year contract through the 2025 season when free agency starts next Tuesday according to 3DownNation writer John Hodge.
Adam Auclair is six foot two and weighs 223 pounds. The 28-year-old from Saint George, Quebec, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on February 9, 2024. In 2024, he made 37 tackles, 15 tackles on special teams, one sack, and three interceptions in 15 games.
The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Auclair in the first round (6th pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. Auclair spent three seasons in Ottawa with 119 tackles, 30 tackles on special teams, two sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 42 games. In 2023, he made 63 tackles, 14 tackles on special teams, one sack, one interception, and one forced fumble in 18 games.
Collegiately, Auclair played four seasons at Laval University (2016-19) making 186 tackles (120 solos, 66 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, seven interceptions, and seven pass breakups in 32 games for the Rouge et Or. He helped Laval win two Vanier Cup championships.
Auclair was named First Team All-Canadian in 2017, Second Team All-Canadian in 2016, and the winner of the Presidents’ Trophy in 2017.
