Report: Hamilton Tiger-Cats to sign defensive back DaShaun Amos

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are set to sign defensive back DaShaun Amos when free agency starts next Tuesday according to 3DownNation reporter John Hodge.

Dashaun Amos is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 30-year-old from Midlothian, Virginia, made 25 tackles, five interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2024.

In the 111th Grey Cup, Amos made two tackles and one interception helping the Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 to win their second Grey Cup title in three seasons. He was named a CFL East All-Star in 2024.

The New York Giants signed Amos as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2017. In 2017, he made six tackles (2 solos, 4 assists) in four preseason games. The Giants released him on September 2, 2017. He also spent time with the Green Bay Packers and the Aviators (TSL) in 2020.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Amos on October 3, 2018. He played three seasons in Calgary (2018-19, 2021) making 79 tackles, six tackles on special teams, five interceptions, and one forced fumble in 32 games helping them win the 106th Grey Cup in 2018. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2019.

The Toronto Argonauts signed Amos on February 8, 2022. In 2022, he made 49 tackles, two tackles on special teams, and four interceptions in 16 games helping Toronto beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 109th Grey Cup. Toronto re-signed him on February 5, 2023. In 2023, he made 15 tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games.

Collegiately, Amos played four seasons at East Carolina University (2013-16) making 116 tackles (81 solos, 35 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 100 yards, one touchdown, 11 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games for the Pirates.
