The Arlington Renegades re-signed defensive lineman DaVonte Lambert on Thursday according to Pro Newsroom writer James Larsen.

DaVonte Lambert is six foot two and weighs 282 pounds. The 30-year-old from Keysville, Georgia, made 11 tackles (6 solos, 5 assists), and one sack in five games for the Arlington Renegades in 2024.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Lambert as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. In 2016, he made 14 tackles (9 solos, 5 assists), and one forced fumble in 11 games. In 2017, he made three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in three preseason games, and in 2018 made eight tackles (4 solos, 4 assists), and one sack in four preseason games. The Buccaneers released him on September 1, 2018.

In 2019, he played for the Albany Empire (AFL) making two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist), one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in four games helping them win Arena Bowl XXXII over the Philadelphia Soul in what was the final game of the Arena Football League. They ceased operations after the 2019 season.

The St. Louis Battlehawks drafted Lambert in the 2020 XFL Open Draft. In 2020, he made seven tackles (3 solos, 4 assists) in five games before the league suspended operations due to COVID-19. The Carolina Panthers signed Lambert on April 30, 2020. There were no preseason games played in 2020 due to COVID-19 and he was released on August 30, 2020.

The Arlington Renegades drafted Lambert in the fourth round (30th pick) of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble in 10 games helping Arlington win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.

Collegiately, Lambert played two seasons at the Georgia Military College (2012-13) making 56 tackles (37 solos, 19 assists), 21 tackles for loss, ten sacks, four forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in 20 games for the Bulldogs.

In 2012, he helped them win the national championship after making 20 tackles (14 solos, 6 assists), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup in eight games.

Then, he transferred to Auburn (2014-15) making 48 tackles (20 solos, 28 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups in 23 games for the Tigers.
