The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are set to sign quarterback Shea Patterson when free agency starts on Tuesday according to 3DownNation reporter Justin Dunk.
Shea Patterson is six foot and weighs 212 pounds. The 28-year-old from Toledo, Ohio, completed 131 of 217 passes (60.4%) for 1,655 yards, six touchdowns, five interceptions, 38 carries for 134 yards, seven touchdowns, and one tackle in 18 games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Patterson as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2020. There were no preseason games played in 2020 and he was released on July 10, 2020. Next, he played for the Blues (TSL) in 2020. The Blues went 1-2 in the season before the league suspended operations. Patterson would later spend time with the B.C. Lions and the Montreal Alouettes. In 2021, he had 11 carries for 18 yards in three games for the Alouettes.
The Michigan Panthers drafted Patterson in the first round (1st pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, he completed 96 of 161 passes (59.6 %) for 973 yards, four touchdowns, five interceptions, 33 carries for 171 yards, two touchdowns, one tackle, and was sacked 13 times in six games before the Panthers released him on May 24, 2022.
The New Orleans Breakers acquired Patterson via waivers on May 25, 2022. He completed 10 of 15 passes (66.7%) for 36 yards, and four carries for five yards in one game. He became a free agent after the 2022 season.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Patterson on February 13, 2023. In 2023, he completed 4 of 6 passes (66%) for 32 yards, 15 carries for 39 yards, and two touchdowns in 13 games.
Collegiately, Patterson played two seasons at Ole Miss (2016-17) completing 238 of 392 passes (60.7%) for 880 yards, six touchdowns, three interceptions, 88 carries for 153 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle in ten games for the Rebels.
Then, Patterson transferred to Michigan (2018-19) completing 424 of 706 passes (60%) for 5,661 yards, 45 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 163 carries for 323 yards, and seven touchdowns in 26 games for the Wolverines. He was named a two-time Third Team All-Big Ten Conference.
