The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed wide receiver Brendan O’Leary Orange to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Tuesday.
They also signed offensive lineman Jakub Szott to a one-year contact through the 2025 season, defensive lineman Miles Fox to a two-year contract through the 2026 season, signed linebacker Brian Cole II to a one-year contract through the 2025 season and signed defensive back DaShaun Amos to a one-year contract through the 2025 season.
Brendan O’Leary Orange is six foot four and weighs 226 pounds. The 27-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 14, 2024. In 2024, he made 16 catches for 335 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for one yard in nine games.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted O’Leary Orange in the fourth round (37th pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In 2023, he made six catches for 111 yards and one touchdown in 18 games. In two seasons with Winnipeg, O’Leary Orange made 25 catches for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and two tackles on special teams in 29 games. He is a member of the 2021 Blue Bombers Grey Cup championship team.
Collegiately, O’Leary Orange played four seasons at Nevada (2016-19) making 61 catches for 941 yards, eight touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 35 games for the Wolf Pack.
Jakub Szott is six foot five and weighs 305 pounds. The 26-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, signed with the Edmonton Elks on August 12, 2024. In 2024, Edmonton’s offense averaged 28 points per game, 390.3 net offense per game, 131.4 rushing yards per game, 271.7 passing yards per game, and 29 sacks allowed finishing 7-11 in the 2024 season.
The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Szott in the fourth round (29th pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. He played 14 games playing left guard for the Redblacks in 2021. He was released by the Redblacks on August 15, 2022. Next, Szott signed with the Montreal Alouettes on October 18, 2022, and was placed on the practice squad. He was released by Monreal on May 9, 2023.
Then, he signed with the Blue Bombers on June 9, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster where he played three games in 2023. After Winnipeg released him, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed him on July 5, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Szott on August 17, 2023. He played seven games for the Ticats. Szott appeared in two preseason games in 2024 and the Ticats released him on June 1, 2024.
Collegiately, Szott played four seasons at McMaster University (2016-19) playing 37 games at left guard with two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist). In 2019, McMaster averaged 28.5 points per game, 303.9 passing yards per game, 128.3 rushing yards per game, 432.1 total yards per game, and 23 touchdowns. He was named Second Team All-OUA in 2019.
Miles Fox is six foot one and weighs 297 pounds. The 28-year-old from Lawrenceville, Georgia, made three tackles in three games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2024.
Fox attended the Buffalo Bills rookie minicamp in 2022. The B.C. Lions signed Fox on May 23, 2022. In 2022, he made three tackles in two games and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Fox on June 12, 2023. In 2023, he made three tackles and one sack in two games.
Collegiately, Fox played four seasons at Old Dominion (2015-18) making 116 tackles (52 solos, 64 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass breakup in 39 games for the Monarchs. He missed the 2019 season due to a Torn Achilles injury. In 2017, Fox was an All-Conference USA honorable mention.
Then, Fox transferred to Wake Forrest (2020-21) making 58 tackles (31 solos, 27 assists), 17.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 21 games for the Demon Deacons. In addition, Fox was named 2020 Third Team All-ACC.
Brian Cole II is six foot two and weighs 207 pounds. The 27-year-old from Saginaw, Michigan, re-signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on January 2, 2024. In 2024, he made 24 tackles, four tackles on special teams, one interception, and one forced fumble in 11 games. He missed most of the season with a foot injury.
The Minnesota Vikings drafted Cole II in the seventh round (249th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Edmonton Elks. In 2021, he made three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in two preseason games for the Carolina Panthers.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Cole II on July 13, 2022. In 2022, Cole II made six tackles on special teams in 11 games. In 2023, he made three tackles, 14 tackles on special teams, and three forced fumbles in 15 games.
Collegiately, Cole II played one season at Michigan in 2015 as a wide receiver with one catch for -1 yard in two games for the Wolverines. Next, he transferred to East Mississippi Community College in 2016 switching to defensive back with 54 tackles (45 solos, 9 assists), one tackle for loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two blocked punts in 11 games for the Lions.
Then, Cole II transferred to Mississippi State (2018-19) with 78 tackles (43 solos, 35 assists), 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 16 kick returns for 329 yards in 17 games for the Bulldogs. He was named Team Captain in 2019.
Dashaun Amos is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 30-year-old from Midlothian, Virginia, made 25 tackles, five interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2024.
In the 111th Grey Cup, Amos made two tackles and one interception helping the Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 to win their second Grey Cup title in three seasons. He was named a CFL East All-Star in 2024.
The New York Giants signed Amos as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2017. In 2017, he made six tackles (2 solos, 4 assists) in four preseason games. The Giants released him on September 2, 2017. He also spent time with the Green Bay Packers and the Aviators (TSL) in 2020.
The Calgary Stampeders signed Amos on October 3, 2018. He played three seasons in Calgary (2018-19, 2021) making 79 tackles, six tackles on special teams, five interceptions, and one forced fumble in 32 games helping them win the 106th Grey Cup in 2018. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2019.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Amos on February 8, 2022. In 2022, he made 49 tackles, two tackles on special teams, and four interceptions in 16 games helping Toronto beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 109th Grey Cup. Toronto re-signed him on February 5, 2023. In 2023, he made 15 tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games.
Collegiately, Amos played four seasons at East Carolina University (2013-16) making 116 tackles (81 solos, 35 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 100 yards, one touchdown, 11 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games for the Pirates.
