The Toronto Argonauts re-signed quarterback Cameron Dukes to a one-year contract through the 2025 season and signed wide receiver Hergy Mayala to a one-year contract through the 2025 season, defensive lineman Celestin Haba to a one-year contract through the 2025 season, defensive back Darrius Bratton to a one-year contract through the 2025 season, and defensive back Will Sunderland to a one-year contract through the 2025 season on Tuesday.
Cameron Dukes is six foot and weighs 210 pounds. The 26-year-old from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, completed 143 of 199 passes (71.8%) for 1,444 yards, seven touchdowns, six interceptions, 57 carries for 321 yards, and four touchdowns in 18 games in 2024.
Dukes played for the Vegas Knight Hawks (IFL) in 2022 completing 99 of 171 passes (57.9%) for 1,103 yards, 27 touchdowns, and five interceptions in eight games. The Knight Hawks finished fifth in the Western Conference with a 6-10 record.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Dukes on March 9, 2023. In 2023, he completed 63 of 96 passes (66%) for 760 yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions, 35 carries for 126 yards, and eight touchdowns in 18 games.
Collegiately, Dukes played five seasons at Lindsey Wilson College (2017-21) completing 769 of 1,227 passes (62.7%) for 10, 439 yards, 114 touchdowns, 21 interceptions, 436 carries for 1,316 yards, and three touchdowns in 49 games, of which 45 were starts for the Blue Raiders.
He finished his collegiate career winning the 2020 National Championship, a three-time All-American, three-time conference offensive player of the year, and a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which goes to the top football student-athlete in the nation.
Hergy Mayala is six foot one and weighs 208 pounds. The 29-year-old from Congo, but grew up in Montreal, Quebec, signed with the Edmonton Elks on April 9, 2024. In 2024, he made 41 catches for 503 yards, five touchdowns, and one tackle in 12 games. He missed most of the season with a calf injury.
The Calgary Stampeders drafted Mayala in the first round (8th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. In his rookie season, Mayala caught 38 passes for 562 yards, and five touchdowns for the Stampeders. In 2021, Mayala caught 29 passes for 284 yards, and three tackles in 13 games. He became a free agent after the 2021 season. The Montreal Alouettes signed him on February 8, 2022.
In 2022, Mayala made 33 catches for 409 yards, and two touchdowns in 18 games for the Alouettes before he was released. He signed with the New Orleans Breakers on February 15, 2023, but was released on April 10, 2023.
The Montreal Alouettes re-signed Mayala on May 4, 2023. In 2023, he made seven catches for 118 yards in ten games. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Mayala as a free agent on October 6, 2023. He made two tackles on special teams in two games.
Collegiately, Mayala played four seasons at the University of Connecticut (2015-18) making 113 catches for 1,352 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 43 games for the Huskies.
Celestin Haba is six foot two and weighs 250 pounds. The 25-year-old from Columbia, South Carolina, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on May 30, 2023. In 2023, Haba made 12 tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble in eight games. In 2024, he made six tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 10 games. He missed most of the season with a knee injury.
Collegiately, Haba played one season at Scottsdale Community College in 2018 making 81 tackles (54 solos, 27 assists), 27.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 11 pass breakups in ten games for the Artichokes. In 2019, he transferred to Western Kentucky but did not record any stats.
Then, Haba transferred to Texas A&M-Commerce (2021-22) making 39 tackles (15 solos, 24 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one interception for 41 yards, one touchdown, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 16 games for the Lions. He was named First Team All-Southland Conference in 2022.
Darrius Bratton is six foot and weighs 200 pounds. The 27-year-old from Roanoke, Virginia, made 44 tackles, and four interceptions in 17 games for the Edmonton Elks in 2024.
Bratton attended the New Orleans Rookie minicamp in 2023. Next, the Edmonton Elks signed Bratton on May 17, 2023. In 2023, he made 44 tackles, and one interception in 18 games.
Collegiately, Bratton played five seasons at Virginia (2017-22) making 77 tackles (54 solos, 23 assists), one tackle for loss, half a sack, 14 pass breakups, and one punt return for no yards in 52 games, of which 14 were starts were the Cavaliers. In 2022, he made 22 tackles (10 solos, 12 assists), half tackle for loss, and half a sack in nine games for the Cavaliers, of which three were starts.
Will Sunderland is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 28-year-old from Midwest City, Oklahoma, made 25 tackles and one tackle on special teams in eight games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2024.
The Green Bay Packers signed Sunderland as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2020. He also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, and the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Sunderland on January 25, 2022. They released him on June 2, 2022. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Sunderland on October 11, 2022. In 2022, he made one tackle in one game. In 2023, he made 14 tackles and one tackle on special teams in 14 games.
Collegiately, Sunderland played two seasons at the University of Oklahoma (2015-16), making 18 tackles (11 solos, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, one pass breakup, and one interception in 16 games for the Sooners.
Then, he transferred to Troy University (2018-19) making 59 tackles (42 solos, 17 assists), five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, five interceptions for 38 yards, one touchdown, and nine pass blocks in 24 games for the Trojans. He was named First Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2019.
