The Arlington Renegades moved quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr. and offensive lineman Ethan Greenidge to the retired list on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Lindsey Scott Jr. is five foot eleven and weighs 220 pounds. The 26-year-old from Zachary, Louisiana, was drafted by the Arlington Renegades in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Scott Jr. completed 6 of 7 passes (85.7%) for 48 yards, one touchdown, 20 carries for 72 yards, and two touchdowns in nine games. The Renegades re-signed Scott Jr. on October 14, 2024.
Scott Jr. went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Pittsburgh Maulers (USFL) drafted him in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2023 USFL College Draft. He was also drafted by the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft. Scott Jr. chose to sign with the Roughnecks.
However, the Roughnecks folded after the XFL and USFL merged to form the United Football League, and the Roughnecks name was transferred to the Houston Gamblers as part of their rebrand.
Collegiately, Scott Jr. started as a redshirt Freshman at LSU in 2016 and did not play for the Tigers. Next, he transferred to East Mississippi Community College in 2017 completing 258 of 398 passes (64.8%) for 3,481 yards, 29 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 161 carries for 729 yards, and six touchdowns in 12 games for the Lions leading them to win the National Championship and the MACJC state title.
Then, Scott Jr. transferred to Missouri in 2018 but did not play for the Tigers. After Missouri, he transferred to Nicholls State University (2020-21) completing 293 of 485 passes (60%) for 3,767 yards, 34 touchdowns, 18 touchdowns, 235 carries for 1,547 yards, and 15 touchdowns in 18 games for the Colonels. He was an All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention. He ranks sixth all-time in career passing yards (3,767).
Scott Jr. concluded his collegiate career at Incarnate Word in 2022 completing 322 of 454 passes (71%) for 4,686 yards, 60 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 132 carries for 712 yards, 11 touchdowns, one catch for six yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 14 games for the Cardinals.
He was named First Team All-American, Southland Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Southland Conference, and the winner of the Walter Payton Award in 2022.
Ethan Greenidge is six foot four and weighs 335 pounds. The 27-year-old from Flanders, New York, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2019. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad. In 2020, he played 15 games. The Saints finished 12-4 that season winning the NFC South Division.
New Orleans’s offense had 3,758 yards passing, 2,265 yards rushing, and 58 touchdowns. He became a free agent after the 2022 season. The Atlanta Falcons signed Greenidge on April 17, 2023. However, a leg injury kept him on the shelf for the 2023 season. The Arlington Renegades signed Greenidge on December 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Greenidge played four seasons at Villanova (2015-18) playing left guard and started 43 games for the Wildcats. In 2018, Villanova’s offense averaged 25 points per game, ranked third in the CAA with 221 first downs, averaged 147.1 rushing yards per game, 222.36 passing yards per game, 369.5 total yards per game, and 37 touchdowns. He was named a two-time Second Team All-CAA (2017-18).
