
The B.C. Lions signed running back Nathaniel Peat and offensive lineman Derwin Gray on Wednesday.
Nathaniel Peat is five foot ten and weighs 205 pounds. The 24-year-old from Columbia, Missouri, signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Peat had five carries for 19 yards and two catches for 12 yards in three preseason games. The Cowboys released him on August 26, 2024.
Collegiately, Peat played three seasons at Stanford (2019-21) with 117 carries for 665 yards, four touchdowns, 16 catches for 106 yards, 46 kick returns for 1,126 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 30 games for the Cardinal.
He was named First Team All-Pac 12 as a kick returner by Phil Steele in 2021, All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention in 2020, and a two-time winner of the Phil Moffatt Award (2020, 2021).
Then, he transferred to Missouri (2022-23) with 176 carries for 755 yards, five touchdowns, 16 catches for 147 yards, two touchdowns, 11 kick returns for 187 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 24 games for the Tigers.
Derwin Gray is six foot four and weighs 320 pounds. The 29-year-old from Washington, D.C., played ten games for the Birmingham Stallions, of which nine were starts.
In 2024, Birmingham’s offense ranked first in total yards (3,475), rushing yards (1,347), second in passing yards (2,128), first in yards per game (347.5), and touchdowns (31) as the Stallions won the UFL Championship over the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0.
The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Gray in the seventh round (219th pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played five games for the Steelers in 2020. He also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans. The Birmingham Stallions signed Gray on December 21, 2022.
In 2023, he played nine games, of which eight were starts. Birmingham ranked second in passing yards (2,170), second in passing yards per game (217), first in completion percentage (67.4), first in passing touchdowns (21), third in rushing yards (1,156), third in rushing yards per game (115.6), and tied second in rushing touchdowns (11) helping the Stallions win its second straight USFL championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
Collegiately, Gray played five seasons at Maryland (2015-18) playing left tackle in 35 games for the Terrapins. In 2018, Maryland averaged 28.50 points per game, 230.2 rushing yards per game, 141.25 passing yards per game, 371.4 total yards per game, 44 touchdowns, and allowed 30 sacks finishing 5-7 for the season.
