
The Edmonton Elks signed offensive lineman Devin Hayes on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Devin Hayes is six foot six and weighs 325 pounds. The 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He signed with the Iowa Barnstormers on October 23, 2024.
Collegiately, Hayes played four seasons at Florida Atlantic University (2018-21) playing 29 games for the Owls. In 2021, FAU averaged 25.42 points per game, 152 rushing yards per game, 248.50 passing yards per game, 400.5 total yards per game, 40 touchdowns, and allowed 35 sacks finishing 5-7 for the season. He helped FAU win the Conference USA Championship in 2019 and appear in the Montgomery Bowl in 2020.
Next, he transferred to Jackson State in 2022 playing 11 games for the Tigers. In 2022, Jackson State averaged 37.69 points per game, 148.2 rushing yards per game, 297.31 passing yards per game, 445.5 total yards per game, 64 touchdowns, and allowed 23 sacks finishing 12-1 for the season before losing to North Carolina Central in the Celebrations Bowl. He was named Second Team All-SWAC after the season.
Then, he transferred to Middle Tennessee State in 2023 playing nine games for the Blue Raiders. In 2023, Middle Tennessee State averaged 24.25 points per game, 125.1 rushing yards per game, 266 passing yards per game, 391.1 total yards per game, 37 touchdowns, and allowed 32 sacks finishing 4-8 for the season. After the season, he played in the Tropical Bowl in 2024.
