The Arlington Renegades re-signed tight end Sal Cannella and defensive back Ajene Harris on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Sal Cannella is six foot five and weighs 230 pounds. The 28-year-old from Schaumburg, Illinois, made 53 catches for 497 yards, and six touchdowns in 10 games for the Arlington Renegades in 2024. He led the UFL in touchdowns (6) and was named to the All-UFL Team.

The Renegades released him on July 25, 2024, and he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on July 26, 2024. Cannella made two catches for 16 yards in three preseason games. The Buccaneers released him on August 17, 2024.

Cannella went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played two seasons for the Generals (TSL) in 2020 and 2021 making 25 catches for 271 yards, and three touchdowns in ten games helping the Generals win the TSL Championship in 2020. He would then sign with the Miami Dolphins on August 2, 2021, but was released three days later.

Next, Cannella was drafted by the New Orleans Breakers (USFL) in the 34th round (265th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Cannella made 34 catches for 368 yards, and two touchdowns in ten games. In the South Divisional Semifinals against the Birmingham Stallions, Cannella made 12 catches for 154 yards. He was named to the All-USFL Team after the season.

After the season, Cannella signed with the Green Bay Packers playing two preseason games making three catches for 31 yards but was released at the end of training camp.

The Arlington Renegades drafted Cannella in the first round (7th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Cannella made 42 catches for 415 yards in ten games for the Renegades in 2023. In the playoffs, Cannella made six catches for 89 yards, and one touchdown helping the Renegades win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.

After the season, Cannella signed with the Seattle Seahawks playing one preseason game making one catch for five yards.

Collegiately, Cannella played two seasons at Scottdale Community College (2015-16) making 29 catches for 443 yards, and seven touchdowns in ten games for the Fighting Artichokes. Then, Cannella transferred to Auburn (2017-19) making 25 catches for 330 yards, five touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 37 games for the Tigers.

Ajene Harris is five foot ten and weighs 181 pounds. The 28-year-old from Los Angeles, California, was drafted by the Arlington Renegades in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, he made 39 tackles (27 solos, 12 assists), half a sack, and one interception for nine yards in 10 games. He was named to the All-UFL Team.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed Harris as an undrafted free agent on August 6, 2019. In 2019, he made 11 tackles (11 solos), and one sack in four preseason games. He spent the majority of the 2019 season on the practice squad.

Next, the Houston Roughnecks signed Harris in January of 2020. In 2020, he made 23 tackles (17 solos, 6 assists) in five games for the league shutdown due to COVID-19. Then, he signed with the B.C. Lions on March 8, 2021, but was released on June 29, 2021.

The Pittsburgh Maulers drafted Harris in the eighth round (68th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, he made one tackle (1 solo) in one game. The Maulers released him on April 19, 2022. The Houston Roughnecks drafted Harris in the second round (12th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, he made 31 tackles (18 solos, 13 assists), one tackle for loss, five interceptions for 15 yards, seven pass breakups, and one forced fumble in nine games. He was named to the All-XFL Team.

Collegiately, Harris played five seasons at USC (2014-18) making 146 tackles (86 solos, 60 assists), eight tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, six interceptions for 103 yards, three touchdowns, 23 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one carry for 14 yards, four catches for 38 yards, two kick returns for 45 yards, and 14 punt returns for 72 yards in 44 games for the Trojans.
