Toronto Argonauts place wide receiver Richie Sindani on the retired list

The Toronto Argonauts moved wide receiver Richie Sindani to the retired list on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Richie Sindani is six foot two and weighs 220 pounds. The 29-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, re-signed with the Toronto Argonauts on January 17, 2024. In 2024, he made 26 catches for 279 yards, and one touchdown in 14 games.

The Calgary Stampeders drafted Sindani in the eighth round (70th pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft. He played four seasons in Calgary making 92 catches for 986 yards and three touchdowns in 60 games. He helped Calgary win the 2018 Grey Cup championship.

Then, Sindani signed with the New Orleans Breakers (USFL) on February 15, 2023. He was transferred to the team’s inactive list on March 19, 2023, and activated from the suspended list on March 26, 2023. New Orleans released him on April 4, 2023.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Sindani on April 28, 2023. In 2023, he made 12 catches for 90 yards in 12 games. The Ticats released him on September 29, 2023. The Toronto Argonauts signed Sindani on October 2, 2023. He made eight catches for 90 yards in three games.

Collegiately, Sindani played three seasons at the University of Regina (2013-2015) making 33 catches for 467 yards and three touchdowns in 20 games for the Rams.

In 2016, Sindani played eight games for the Calgary Colts (CJFL) making 31 catches for 414 yards and two touchdowns. Then, Sindani transferred to the University of Calgary in 2017 with 23 receptions for 280 yards and one touchdown in six games for the Dinos.
