Ottawa Redblacks sign wide receiver Je’Quan Burton

The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Je’Quan Burton on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Je’Quan Burton is five foot nine and weighs 177 pounds. The 24-year-old from West Orlando, Florida, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made two catches for five yards and three carries for one yard in three preseason games. The Dolphins released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Burton played two seasons at Southern Illinois University (2018-19) making four catches for 66 yards, eight carries for 38 yards, eight kick returns for 154 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in five games for the Salukis. Next, he transferred to Iowa Central Community College in 2020 but the season was canceled due to COVID-19, and never played for the Tritons.

Then, he transferred to Florida Atlantic University (2021-23) making 84 catches for 1,277 yards, nine touchdowns, four carries for six yards, 25 kick returns for 483 yards, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 34 games for the Owls.
