The B.C. Lions promoted scout Rob Ralph to be the new assistant general manager and added Will Ark as a U.S. scout on Wednesday.
“Rob has been a tremendous asset to our personnel department for several years and this promotion to assistant general manager is well deserved,” said Rigmaiden. He will continue to be the foundation of our Canadian scouting and an increased role within the department.”
Rob Ralph is from London, Ontario. He enters his seventh season with the B.C. Lions. He spent four seasons as the team’s top Canadian scout who was in charge of evaluating talent for the CFL Draft. He joined the Lions in 2019 as a regional scout.
Before B.C., Ralph spent 20 years with the Edmonton Eskimos/Elks from 1999-2018 as a video coordinator and was promoted to offensive assistant in 2008. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1998 and was a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Radio and Television program.
Will Ark is from Green Bay, Wisconsin. He recently served as an area scout for the Hula Bowl, where he was involved in finalizing the roster for 2025. Ark participated in the Green Bay Packers Scouting and Player Personnel Internship in 2024. He was also a scouting assistant at Michigan State in 2023 and 2024.
“Will is a bright, young scout that has shown the work ethic, eye for talent, and professionalism to get an opportunity in our scouting department, added Rigmaiden. He will focus on U.S. players but also be given added responsibilities as he continues to grow.”
Collegiately, Ark played four seasons at Michigan Technical University (2018-22) completing 600 of 1,101 passes (54%) for 7,228 yards, 52 touchdowns, 30 interceptions, 240 carries for 471 yards, 13 touchdowns, one catch for 16 yards, punted the ball 77 times for 2,984 yards (38.8 AVG), with a long of 66 yards, 25 of them from inside the 20-yard line, 10 from 50-plus yards, one tackle (1 solo), and one pass breakup in 39 games for the Huskies.
He was named a two-time All-GLIAC Honorable Mention, Second Team All-GLIAC in 2019, Michigan Technical University Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 2019, and the winner of the Harold Meese Sportsmanship Award in 2022.
