
The Memphis Showboats are set to sign defensive lineman Antwuan Jackson Jr. according to Pro Football Newsroom reporter James Larsen.
Antwuan Jackson Jr. is six foot two and weighs 298 pounds. The 27-year-old from Ellenwood, Georgia, was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, he made 10 tackles (4 solos, 6 assists) in 10 games.
Jackson Jr. attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2022. The Seattle Sea Dragons drafted him in the ninth round (66th pick) in Phase 3 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, he made 20 tackles (6 solos, 14 assists), one tackle for loss, one pass breakup in 10 games.
The Sea Dragons released him on May 15, 2023. The Carolina Panthers signed Jackson Jr. on May 16, 2023. He made two tackles (2 assists) in two preseason games. The Panthers released him on August 26, 2023.
Collegiately, Jackson Jr. was a redshirt Freshman at Auburn in 2016 and did not play a game for the Tigers. Next, he transferred to Blinn College in 2017 making 70 tackles (53 solos, 17 assists), 10 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick in 10 games for the Buccaneers. He was named MVP of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.
Then, Jackson Jr. transferred to Ohio State (2018-22) making 48 tackles (24 solos, 24 assists), 10 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 38 games for the Buckeyes.
