The Cologne Centurions signed defensive back Richard Agyekum on Thursday.
Richard Agyekum is five foot ten and weighs 175 pounds. A native of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Agyekum made 24 tackles (15 solos, 9 assists), one interception, and one pass breakup in 15 games for the Mavericks in 2024.
Agyekum played high school in Europe and was a 3-star recruit by 247Sports. He represented the Netherlands in the 2019 U-19 European Championships. As a junior, he had over 800 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.
Collegiately, Agyekum played two seasons at North Dakota (2021-22) making eight tackles (4 solos, 4 assists) in 12 games for the Fighting Hawks. Then, he transferred to Minnesota State (2023-24) making 41 tackles (28 solos, 13 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 27 games for the Mavericks.
