The D.C. Defenders are set to sign offensive lineman D.J. Fluker according to Pro Football Newsroom reporter James Larsen.

D.J. Fluker is six foot five and weighs 342 pounds. The 33-year-old from New Orleans, Louisiana, was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round (11th pick) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He started 59 games for the Chargers in four seasons and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2013.

Fluker also spent time with the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played 49 games, 24 in Seattle, 16 in Baltimore, and nine in New York.

Collegiately, Fluker played four seasons at Alabama (2009-12) playing left tackle and right tackle in 37 games for the Crimson Tide. In 2012, Alabama averaged 38.7 points per game, 227.5 rushing yards per game, 218 passing yards per game, 445.5 total yards per game, 68 touchdowns, and allowed 23 sacks finishing 13-1 for the season beating Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and beat Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game.

Fluker was named First Team All-SEC in 2012, First Team All-American in 2012, and a three-time BCS National Champion (2010, 2012-13).
