
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Ty James on Thursday.
Ty James is six foot two and weighs 200 pounds. The 23-year-old from Conyers, Georgia, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made one catch for 13 yards and one carry for four yards in two preseason games. The Vikings released him on August 19, 2024.
Collegiately, James was a redshirt Freshman at the University of Georgia in 2019 and did not play for the Bulldogs. Then, he transferred to Mercer (2020-23) making 171 catches for 3,364 yards, 30 touchdowns, four carries for 14 yards, two kick returns for four yards, one punt return for nine yards, seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists), and one blocked kick in 45 games for the Bears.
He was named a two-time First Team All-SoCon (2022-23), Preseason All-American by HERO Sports, and a finalist for the Walter Payton Award in 2023.
