
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added André Bolduc and Bill Jean to the 2025 coaching staff on Friday. Bolduc will be the team’s running backs coach while Jean will be the offensive assistant/receivers coach.
André Bolduc is 53 years old and is from Alma, Quebec. He joins Winnipeg after spending last season with the Calgary Stampeders. Calgary averaged 108.6 rushing yards per game. Before Calgary, he spent a season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2023 as the running backs coach and the run-game coordinator helping Jamal Morrow rush for 1,228 yards.
Bolduc spent ten seasons with the Montreal Alouettes in a variety of roles, including running backs coach and assistant head coach, receivers coach, special teams coach, and offensive assistant. In 2021, William Stanback led the league with 1,176 rushing yards and was named the East Division’s Most Outstanding Player. Montreal led the league with 2,023 rushing yards.
As a player, Bolduc played for the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1996, the Edmonton Eskimos in 1997, and the Montreal Alouettes from 1998 to 2001. During his time in Montreal, he served as a special teams captain for two seasons (1999-00).
After his playing career, Bolduc was the offensive coordinator for the University of Montreal in 2002 and later became a head coach for the University of Sherbrooke Vert et Or in 2007 guiding them to the playoffs three times, winning their first playoff game in program history in 2010, and was named the RSEQ (Quebec conference) coach of the year in 2011.
Bolduc played college football at Concordia University from 1992 to 1995 helping them win the Dunsmore Cup in 1993 and earned All-Star honors in his junior and senior seasons.
Billy Jean is from Laval, Quebec. He joins the Blue Bombers after spending last season with the Montreal Alouettes as the team’s video coordinator/video analyst.
Before Montreal, he spent five seasons at the University of Montreal as a running backs coach, receivers coach, and video coordinator. In 2008, he was with the University of Sherbrooke Vert et Or. Jean began his coaching career with the Montreal Alouettes in 2017 as an offensive assistant, assistant receivers coach, and in football operations.
