
The B.C. Lions signed defensive back Johnny Dixon on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Johnny Dixon is six foot and weighs 196 pounds. The 24-year-old from Tampa, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He did not play in 2024 after sustaining a hip injury during the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Collegiately, Dixon played two seasons at South Carolina (2019-20) making 37 tackles (30 solos, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception for three yards, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 22 games for the Gamecocks.
Then, he transferred to Penn State (2021-23) making 59 tackles (45 solos, 14 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 7.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 31 yards, 15 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 37 games for the Nittany Lions.
In 2023, he made 26 tackles (20 solos, 6 assists), six tackles for loss, one interception for 21 yards, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games helping the Nittany Lions appear in the Peach Bowl. He was named Third Team All-Big Ten.
