
The Michigan Panthers released kicker Austin Jones on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Austin Jones is five foot ten and weighs 215 pounds. The 29-year-old from Orlando, Florida, signed with the New Jersey Generals on May 10, 2022. In 2022, he made 7 of 11 field goals (64%) with a long of 50 yards, and 10 of 13 extra points in five games.
The Houston Roughnecks signed Jones on April 4, 2023. In 2023, he made 4 of 4 field goals (100%) with a long of 41 yards in three games. He became a free agent after the 2023 season. The Michigan Panthers signed Jones on March 8, 2025.
Collegiately, Jones played four seasons at Temple (2014-17) making 50 of 67 field goals (74.6%) with a long of 47 yards, 47 kickoffs for 2,826 yards (60.1 AVG), six touchbacks, and two tackles (2 assists) in 36 games for the Owls. He was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in 2016.
Then, he transferred to Alabama in 2018 making 1 of 2 field goals (50%) with a long of 39 yards, and one kickoff for 54 yards in three games for the Crimson Tide.
