Former New Jersey Generals offensive lineman Calvin Ashley announced his retirement on Friday according to Pro Football Newsroom reporter James Larsen.

Calvin Ashley is six foot six and weighs 310 pounds. The 26-year-old from Orlando, Florida, was drafted by the New Jersey Generals drafted him in the sixth round (45th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, he played three games for the Generals.

In 2023, he played nine games at right guard for the Generals in 2023. He was named to the All-USFL Team. New Jersey’s offense averaged 162 passing yards per game, 134.2 rushing yards per game, and 21 touchdowns finishing 3-7 for the season.

The Birmingham Stallions drafted Ashley in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. The Stallions released him on March 10, 2024. The Houston Roughnecks signed Ashley on July 24, 2024, and released him on January 7, 2025.

Collegiately, Ashley played two seasons at Auburn University (2017-18) playing guard in five games. In 2018, Auburn averaged 30.92 points per game, 167.5 rushing yards per game, 222.5 passing yards per game, 389.9 total yards per game, 51 touchdowns, and allowed 23 sacks finishing 8-5 for the season winning the Music City Bowl over the Purdue Boilermakers.

Then, he transferred to Florida A&M in 2019 playing seven games for the Rattlers. In 2019, Florida A&M averaged 32.73 points per game, 105.8 rushing yards per game, 291.09 passing yards per game, 396.9 total yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed eight sacks finishing 9-2 for the season.
