Corey Heim holds off Grant Enfinger to win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday night in the Ecosave 200. Spire Motorsports driver Corey Day started the race on the pole with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Tyler Ankrum starting in the second position.

In Stage 1, Ty Majeski passed Corey Day for the lead in the backstretch on lap 17. Ten laps later, rain brought out the first caution of the race and Ty Majeski won the stage. In Stage 2, the race went to a red flag for rain. After several minutes the race resumed with Ben Rhodes in the lead.

On lap 49, Chandler Smith passed Ben Rhodes for the lead and Rhodes fell to third place on lap 52 after Stewart Friesen passed him. Meanwhile, Ty Majeski sustained right-side damage and was in 11th place. Tyler Ankrum passed Ben Rhodes on lap 38 and went on to win Stage 2. Rhodes ended up finishing fifth.

In the final stage, there was another red flag for rain and two cautions. On lap 85, Kaden Honeycutt got loose and spun at Turn 4 which brought out the third caution of the night. On lap 94, Jack Wood crashed at Turn 4 and finished in 30th place.

Tricon Garage driver Corey Heim passed Layne Riggs for the lead on lap 104. He led the final 31 laps to win the race by .825 seconds over Grant Enfinger. It was Heim’s second win of the season. He also led the most laps in the race (42). There were 21 lead changes among 12 drivers and four cautions for 34 laps.

The rest of the top ten finishers were Tanner Gray third, Ty Majeski fourth, Layne Riggs fifth, Stewart Friesen sixth, Rajah Caruth seventh, Chandler Smith eighth, Matt Crafton ninth, and Tyler Ankrum tenth.
