
The Houston Roughnecks released defensive lineman Michael Scott on Wednesday according to Pro Football Newsroom reporter James Larsen.
Michael Scott is six foot five and weighs 240 pounds. The 28-year-old from Irving, Texas, went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2021, he played for the Generals of The Spring League. Next, the Tampa Bay Bandits (USFL) drafted Scott in the third round (18th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, he made 19 tackles (15 solos, 4 assists), and three sacks in nine games.
Then, the San Antonio Brahmas drafted Scott in the fifth round (34th pick) of the 2023 XFL Supplemental Draft. In 2023, he made nine tackles (4 solos, 5 assists), four tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup in seven games. He became a free agent after the 2023 season.
Collegiately, Scott played one season at SMU in 2016 making seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists), and one pass breakup in four games for the Mustangs. Next, he transferred to Trinity Valley Community College in 2017 making 26 tackles (18 solos, 8 assists), three tackles for loss, four sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 10 games for the Cardinals.
Then, he transferred to Oklahoma State (2018-19) making 19 tackles (16 solos, 3 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and one blocked kick in 25 games for the Cowboys.
