The Edmonton Elks signed running back Artavis Pierce on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Artavis Pierce is five foot eleven and weighs 208 pounds. The 28-year-old from Lake Alfred, Florida, signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2020. He played two seasons in Chicago with six carries for 34 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 27 yards, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in six games. The Bears released him on December 28, 2021.

The Cleveland Browns signed Pierce on January 5, 2022. He spent the final week of the season on the practice squad and became a free agent after the season. The D.C. Defenders drafted Pierce in the fifth round (39th pick) of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, he dressed for one game recording no stats, and became a free agent after the 2023 season.

Collegiately, Pierce played four seasons at Oregon State (2016-19) with 367 carries for 2,128 yards, 15 touchdowns, 74 catches for 578 yards, two touchdowns, and 29 kick returns for 602 yards in 23 games for the Beavers. He was named a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention (2017-18).
