The San Antonio Brahmas signed quarterback Mike Hohensee Jr. on Saturday according to Michael Del Negro.

Michael Hohensee Jr. is six foot two and weighs 196 pounds. A native of Saint Charles, Illinois, Hohensee Jr. went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and attended the Dallas Cowboys rookie minicamp in 2024.

Collegiately, Hohensee Jr. played five seasons at Northwest Missouri State (2018-23) completing 489 of 719 passes (68%) for 6,503 yards, 63 touchdowns, 29 interceptions, 207 carries for 632 yards, 15 touchdowns, punting the ball 115 times for 4,467 yards (38.8 AVG), with a long of 73 yards, 12 touchbacks, 29 fair catches, 42 from inside the 20-yard line, 15 from 50-plus yards, and four tackles (4 solos) in 45 games for the Bearcats.

In 2023, he completed 148 of 238 passes (62%) for 1,974 yards, 22 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 38 carries for -20 yards, one touchdown, punting the ball four times for 174 yards (43.5 AVG), with a long of 52 yards, two touchbacks, one from inside the 20-yard line, one from 50-plus yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in nine games. He was named the team’s Offensive MVP in 2023.

Mike is the son of Mike Hohensee, who was a quarterback for the Washington Federals (USFL), Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL), Toronto Argonauts, Chicago Bears, and the Pittsburgh Gladiators (AFL). In 1987, he completed 28 of 52 passes (53.8%) for 343 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and nine carries for 56 yards in two games.

After his playing career, Hohensee coached in the Arena Football League for teams like the Albany Firebirds, Chicago Rush, Philadelphia Soul, Iowa Barnstormers, and the Portland Thunder winning Arena Bowl XX in 2006 for the Chicago Rush. He was inducted into the Arean Football League Hall of Fame in 2012.
