The Montreal Alouettes placed defensive tackle Buddha Jones on the retired list on Monday.

Buddha Jones is six foot one and weighs 307 pounds. The 24-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2024. In 2024, an undisclosed injury prevented him from playing in the preseason. The Seahawks released him on September 3, 2024. The Montreal Alouettes signed Jones on January 27, 2025.

Collegiately, Jones played two seasons at Kent State (2019-20) making 12 tackles (5 solos, 7 assists), and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Golden Flashes. Then, he transferred to Troy (2021-23) making 64 tackles (19 solos, 45 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 34 games for the Trojans. In 2023, he made 29 tackles (8 solos, 21 assists), four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 14 games.
