
The San Antonio Brahmas released tight end Izaiah Gathings on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Izaiah Gathings is six foot four and weighs 222 pounds. The 24-year-old from Statesville, North Carolina, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on March 10, 2025. He was inactive last week when the Brahmas took on the Arlington Renegades.
The New York Jets signed Gathings as an undrafted free agent on May 15, 2023. The Jets released him on July 22, 2023, and he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on July 30, 2023. In 2023, he made one catch for five yards in three games. The Chiefs released him on August 29, 2023.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Gathings on May 29, 2024, and released him on June 5, 2024. He re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on July 21, 2024, and they released him again on August 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Gathings played three seasons at Gardner-Webb University (2018-20) making 101 catches for 1,341 yards, 14 touchdowns, and four tackles (2 solos, 2 assists) in 24 games for the Bulldogs. Then, he transferred to Middle Tennessee State (2021-22) making 84 catches for 861 yards, and three touchdowns in 24 games for the Blue Raiders. He was named an All-CUSA Honorable Mention in 2022.
