The Houston Roughnecks released defensive back Marquis Wilson on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Marquis Wilson is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 25-year-old from Windsor, Connecticut, signed with the Houston Roughnecks on July 24, 2024. He made one tackle (1 solo) last week against the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Wilson attended the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp in 2024. Next, he signed with the Edmonton Elks on May 13, 2024. In 2024, he made one tackle in two preseason games. The Elks released him on June 1, 2024.

Collegiately, Wilson played four seasons at Penn State (2019-22) making 57 tackles (34 solos, 28 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions for 13 yards, seven pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three catches for 29 yards, and three punts for three yards in 38 games for the Nittany Lions.

Then, Wilson transferred to Purdue in 2023 making 20 tackles (15 solos, 5 assists), six pass breakups, and one punt return for 15 yards in five games for the Boilermakers.
