The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (8-2) returned to Coca-Cola Park to start a six-game series against the Syracuse Mets (3-6). Kyle Tyler (0-0, 1.93) was on the mound for Lehigh Valley against Jordan Geber (0-0, 10.80 ERA) of Syracuse.

Lehigh Valley third baseman Otto Kemp went 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and two RBIs. His home run came in the bottom of the fifth inning hitting Sean Reid-Foley’s four-seam fastball 365 feet to left field for a two-run home run that put Lehigh Valley up 3-2.

Lehigh Valley left fielder Justin Crawford went 3 for 5 with two RBIs, while catcher Garrett Stubbs had one RBI, and a fielder’s choice scored two more runs as the IronPigs defeated Mets 7-2 to extend their winning streak to six games.

Lehigh Valley starter Kyle Tyler picked up his first win of the season pitching five innings, allowing six hits, two runs, three walks, and two strikeouts throwing 90 pitches, of which 55 were strikes. Billy McKinney and Jon Singleton scored the two runs for Syracuse.

Lehigh Valley relief pitcher Max Lazar closed out the game pitching one inning, allowing one hit and one walk throwing 22 pitches, of which 13 were strikes.
