The Edmonton Elks signed wide receiver Marshel Martin IV on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Marshel Martin IV is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. A native of Vallejo, California, Martin IV went undrafted and attended NFL rookie minicamps with the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers in 2024.
Collegiately, Martin IV played five seasons at Sacramento State (2018-23) making 192 catches for 2,373 yards, 27 touchdowns, 18 carries for 102 yards, two rushing touchdowns, three kick returns for 83 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 50 games for the Hornets.
In 2023, he made 35 catches for 295 yards, two touchdowns, 12 carries for 85 yards, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 12 games. Martin IV was named a three-time First Team All-Big Sky Conference (2021-23), Second Team All-Big Sky Conference (2019), and a six-time All-American by STATS, 2 by AFCA, 2 by Phil Steele, and 2 by HERO Sports.
