The NTT IndyCar Series visited the streets of Long Beach, California, for the 50th running of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Kyle Kirkwood started the race on the pole with his teammate, Colton Herta, starting second.

This was a caution-free race for the second time this season. The lead only changed hands when drivers went to pit road. Kirkwood led the opening seven laps, followed by Marcus Armstrong leading a lap, and Christian Lundgaard led 19 laps. Scott Dixon led two laps before Kirkwood resumed the lead on lap 30. He led an additional five laps before making his second pit stop.

Christian Lundgaard took over the lead on lap 35. He led six more laps before heading to pit road and Sting Ray Robb was the new leader on lap 41. Robb led 12 laps before Kirkwood resumed the lead on lap 53. From there he led the last 33 of 36 laps to win his second career win at Long Beach and the third of his IndyCar career beating Alex Palou by 2.6859 seconds. Palou fell short of becoming the first driver in IndyCar racing history to win the first three races of the season.

Kyle Kirkwood led 46 of 90 laps, the most in the race. Christian Lundgaard led 26 laps, Sting Ray Robb led 12 laps, Kyffin Simpson led three laps, Scott Dixon led two laps, and Marcus Armstrong led one lap.

The rest of the top ten finishers were Christian Lundgaard third, Felix Rosenqvist fourth, Will Power fifth, Scott McLaughlin sixth, Colton Herta seventh, Scott Dixon eighth, Sting Ray Robb ninth, and Kyffin Simpson tenth. There were 988 total passes and 764 position battles.

The NTT IndyCar Series heads to Barber Motorsports Park for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 1:30 pm on Fox. Purchase tickets for all IndyCar races today at StubHub.
