The Calgary Stampeders signed offensive lineman Justin Shaffer on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Justin Shaffer is six foot four and weighs 330 pounds. The 26-year-old from Ellenwood, Georgia, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on October 21, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.

The Atlanta Falcons drafted Shaffer in the sixth round (190th pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons on the practice squad. The Falcons released him on March 28, 2024.

Collegiately, Shaffer played five seasons at Georgia (2017-21) playing left guard and right guard in 51 games for the Bulldogs. In 2021, he started 15 games. Georgia’s offense averaged 38.60 points per game, 190.9 rushing yards per game, 251.87 passing yards per game, 442.8 yards per game, and 73 touchdowns.

Georgia finished the season 14-1 and won the CFP National Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, over the Alabama Crimson Tide 33-18. Shaffer was named Second Team All-SEC.
