
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (12-6) and the Gwinnett Stripers (9-8) played game five on Friday night from Coolray Field. Nabil Crismatt (2-1, 3.60 ERA) was on the mound for Lehigh Valley against A.J. Smith-Shawver (0-0, 0.00 ERA) of Gwinnett.
Lehigh Valley third baseman Buddy Kennedy went 1 for 4 with a single and two RBIs, while left fielder Justin Crawford went 1 for 3 with a walk, a double, and two RBIs. Lehigh Valley second baseman Otto Kemp went 2 for 4 with a double, a home run, and one RBI.
Kemp’s home run came at the top of the eighth inning hitting Dylan Dodd’s cutter 386 feet to left field. It was Kemp’s sixth home run of the season as the IronPigs snapped a two-game losing streak 5-2 over the Stripers.
Lehigh Valley starter Nabil Crismatt pitched six innings, allowing four hits, two runs, one walk, and three strikeouts throwing 80 pitches, of which 57 were strikes for his third win of the season. Crismatt gave up a two-run home run to Eddys Leonard in the bottom of the second inning.
Lehigh Valley relief pitcher Max Lazar earned his second save of the season pitching one inning, allowing one hit, and two strikeouts throwing 13 pitches, of which 10 were strikes. The loss went to Gwinnett starter A.J. Smith-Shawver.
