
The B.C. Lions signed defensive lineman Demetrius Taylor and linebacker Jeremy Lewis while releasing running back D’Vonte Price on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Demetrius Taylor is six foot one and weighs 295 pounds. The 25-year-old from Miami, Florida, signed with the Birmingham Stallions on July 23, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
The Detroit Lions signed Taylor as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In the 2022 preseason, Taylor made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) against the Indianapolis Colts.
Taylor signed with the B.C. Lions on May 28, 2024. He played one preseason game against the Edmonton Elks in 2024 recording no stats. The Lions released him on June 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Taylor played five seasons at Appalachian State University (2017-21) making 137 tackles (67 solos, 70 assists), 46 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks, one interception for 19 yards, 10 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three blocked kicks, and one punt return for nine yards in 65 games for the Mountaineers.
Jeremy Lewis is six foot two and weighs 237 pounds. A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Lewis attended the New York Jets rookie minicamp in 2024.
Collegiately, Lewis played five seasons at East Carolina University (2019-23) playing tight end and linebacker making 150 tackles (81 solos, 69 assists), 23.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one kick return for four yards, eight catches for 54 yards, and one touchdown in 54 games for the Pirates.
In 2023, he was named Third Team All-AAC after making 40 tackles (24 solos, 16 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 12 games.
Taylor was named a three-time First Team All-Sun Belt Conference. During his time at App State, the Mountaineers went 52-14 with three Sun Belt titles (2017-19), an additional Sun Belt East Division title (2021), and four bowl wins (2017-20).
D’Vonte Price is six foot two and weighs 215 pounds. The 25-year-old from Punta Gorda, Florida, signed with the B.C. Lions on January 25, 2025.
The Indianapolis Colts signed Price as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he made 11 carries for 40 yards, four catches for 11 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. He appeared in one regular season game in 2022 recording no stats. He became a free agent after the 2022 season.
Collegiately, Price played five seasons at Florida International University (2017-21) making 369 carries for 2,203 yards, 15 touchdowns, 45 catches for 307 yards, one touchdown, eight kick returns for 131 yards, 10 tackles (9 solos, 1 assist), and one fumble recovery in 48 games for the Panthers. He was a two-time Conference USA Honorable Mention.
