
The Memphis Showboats signed defensive tackle DeVere Levelston and released defensive tackle Ja’Mion Franklin on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
DeVere Levelston is six foot three and weighs 281 pounds. The 24-year-old from DeSoto, Texas, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. In 2024, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists), and one sack in three preseason games to earn a spot on the practice squad. The Seahawks released him on December 17, 2024.
Collegiately, Levelston played one season at Tyler College in 2019 making 42 tackles (30 solos, 12 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks in eight games for the Apache.
Then, he transferred to SMU (2020-23) making 90 tackles (50 solos, 40 assists), 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, one fumble recovery, and two blocked kicks in 46 games for the Mustangs. He was named a two-time Fourth Team All-ACC by Phil Steele.
Ja’Mion Franklin is six foot two and weighs 309 pounds. The 25-year-old from Ridgely, Maryland, signed with the Memphis Showboats on April 14, 2025. He played one game against the Michigan Panthers in Week 4 making two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist).
The Baltimore Ravens signed Franklin as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. The Ravens released him on May 28, 2024.
Collegiately, Franklin played three seasons at Notre Dame (2018-20) making four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 12 games for the Fighting Irish. Then, he transferred to Duke (2022-23) making 56 tackles (17 solos, 39 assists), seven tackles for loss, four sacks, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 26 games for the Blue Devils. He was named Academic All-ACC in 2022.
