Philadelphia Eagles select Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell in the first round (31st pick) of the 2025 NFL Draft. To get Campbell, the Eagles traded the No. 32 pick, along with a 2025 fifth-round pick (164th pick) to the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 31 pick.

Jihaad Campbell is six foot three and weighs 244 pounds. The 21-year-old from Erial, New Jersey, led the SEC with 117 tackles (54 solos, 63 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception for 24 yards, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

His 117 tackles were good for eighth in Alabama’s single-season history. He was named First Team All-SEC and Second Team All-American by FWAA. He was also a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award and the Butkus Award.

Collegiately, Campbell played three seasons at Alabama (2022-24) making 184 tackles (88 solos, 96 assists), 15.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions for 26 yards, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 35 games for the Crimson Tide.

Campbell was a former five-star recruit playing at Timber Creek Regional High School in Erial, New Jersey, for three years before transferring to the IMG Academy. As a senior, he played both wide receiver and defensive end making 15 catches for 249 yards, two touchdowns, 45 tackles, and seven sacks.
