Philadelphia Eagles draft defensive back Andrew Mukuba

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted defensive back Andrew Mukuba in the second round (64th pick) of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday night.

Philadelphia had two picks in Friday’s draft. In the third round, they traded pick No. 96 to the Atlanta Falcons for No. 101 pick and a 2026 fifth-round pick. They later traded the No. 101 pick plus the No. 134 pick to the Denver Broncos for picks No. 111, 130, and 191. The Eagles will have six picks in Saturday’s draft. Two in the fourth round, three in the fifth round, and one in the sixth round.

Andrew Mukuba is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 22-year-old from Harare, Zimbabwe, transferred to Texas in 2024 making 69 tackles (41 solos, 28 assists), four tackles for loss, five interceptions for 12 yards, 11 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 15 games for the Longhorns. He helped the Longhorns win the 2025 Peach Bowl over Arizona State in which he made eight tackles (4 solos, 4 assists), and one pass breakup. He was named Third Team All-SEC in 2024.

He was named the Jim Thorpe Award’s National Defensive Back of the Week following a win against Michigan in which he made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist), one interception for three yards, and one pass breakup.

Collegiately, Mukuba played three seasons at Clemson (2021-23) making 143 tackles (90 solos, 53 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, 16 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 35 games for the Tigers. He was named Freshman All-American, ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Third-Team All-ACC in 2021. In 2023, he helped Clemson win the Gator Bowl. Mukuba immigrated to America when he was nine years old.
