My name is Michael Heilman. I am a writer, videographer, and photographer for BGMSportsTrax. My sports fandom began as a kid watching Pat Summerall and John Madden every Sunday along with the other great announcers from Dick Enberg, and Frank Gifford, to hockey’s Gary Thorne and Bill Clement. I knew I wanted to do something in sports as a career.
I started BGMSportsTrax in 2016 on Blogger while attending a community college in South Jersey and working a part-time job. I graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2016 with an Associate Degree in Media Production and attended Stockton University shortly after.
During my time at Stockton University, I worked for the school’s newspaper called “The Argo” and was inducted into the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. While I was working for the school newspaper, I wrote sports stories for them from the topics that were posted on BGMSportsTrax. BGMSportsTrax started as a YouTube channel where I filmed local motorsports races from the South Jersey area including NASCAR, monster trucks, and more.
Over time, I started to write articles on different sports topics from football, baseball, motorsports, and more. During my college years, I got my first taste of the sports world by working for a professional soccer team known as Atlantic City FC of the National Premier Soccer League where I wrote game recaps for the team and the league website.
During that season, Atlantic City FC made it to the playoffs. Not long after the season ended, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in communications/ media production at Stockton University and BGMSportsTrax became a full-time job.

BGMSportsTrax covers leagues from the CFL, UFL, IndyCar, and more. The mission for BGMSportsTrax is to cover the leagues and players who don’t get enough recognition from the mainstream media. These leagues offer something unique to the audience and deserve to be featured.
